The Orphan Care & Education Program

Our Orphan Care and Education program is designed to ensure that children who have lost either one or both parents and have demonstrated the desire and ability to excel academically, are able to do so despite the lack of funds. For several years, we have been involved in providing elementary, secondary, technical, and university education to orphans and abandoned children in Africa. We provide funds that not only cover tuition, but also cover daily needs such as living expenses, clothing, and books. We follow due diligence in selecting candidates in this program to ensure that the funds provided are well spent.

The Blessing Foundation is committed to empowering girls through education. When a girl in Africa gets the chance to go to school and stay in school, the cycle of poverty is broken, and things change. The benefits of providing an African girl with education are clear. Educated girls help break the cycle of poverty. Girls who go to school are more likely to enter the work force, earn higher incomes, delay early pregnancy, plan marriage and family, and seek an education for their own children. When you partner with The Blessing Foundation through the sponsorship program, you agree to make a regular contribution that enables us to train more leaders like Sarah and Lazarus.

Program Goals

Our goal in this program as funds become available, is to carefully select orphans and nurture them academically and provide them with tools that will help them to become productive citizens of their communities. We also plan to build sustainable Christian-based elementary and middle schools to foster a well-balanced learning environment from the moment they enter our program.

In 2013 we established an Endowment Fund to expand our scholarship program and enable us to enroll more students in our education program each year. If your desire is to educate orphans and poor children in Africa, you can fill out a Child Sponsorship Form. We will send you annual reports and updates regarding the children’s progress in school.
